Leslie Rutledge is the 56th Attorney General of Arkansas and the first woman to be elected to the Office. A native of Batesville, Rutledge is a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and the UALR Bowen School of Law. She clerked for Arkansas Court of Appeals Judge (now Supreme Court Justice) Josephine Hart and was Deputy Counsel for Governor Mike Huckabee, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Lonoke County, and Attorney for the Division of Children and Family Services. Nationally, General Rutledge worked in Washington D.C. as Counsel for the Republican National Committee and National Republican Congressional Committee, as well as led a 50-state legal team as Counsel for the 2008 Mike Huckabee presidential campaign. Prior to being elected Attorney General, she practiced law in Little Rock at The Rutledge Firm.
