Kathy Didawick

Kathy Didawick is vice president of Congressional Communications for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of 36 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. The Blue System is the nation's largest health insurer covering one-in-three of all Americans. It is the largest single processor of Medicare claims in the nation, and holds the world's largest privately underwritten health insurance contract – the 5.4 million-member Federal Employee Program (FEP)® Didawick is responsible for directing and implementing the Association’s political, grassroots, and election-related activities, as well as legislative and online advocacy. In addition, Didawick lobbies members of Congress on critical issues relevant to The Blues® and the health insurance industry. Before joining BCBSA in 2001, Didawick served three members of the U.S. Senate over a 15-year period. Also, she was deputy assistant at the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee. Didawick also serves on the board of directors for the Congressional Award, which was established by Congress in 1979. Additionally, she serves on the board of directors for the Public Affairs Council, which is composed of leaders from the public affairs profession. Didawick earned a bachelor’s degree at Radford University with a double major in marketing and management.
