Mark Grisanti is a native of Buffalo, New York and was born and raised in the 60th state senate district, on the west side. He attended grammar school at the Cathedra school and Public School #81. Mark grew up with the working class, labored alongside many of our brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers, in construction, dishwashing and valet parking. He also acquired Certificates in building trades including plumbing, electrical, masonry, welding and carpentry. He moved on to become a graduate of Canisius College, with a BA in English, and a minor in Philosophy. In 1993, he received his Juris Doctorate degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan. After college, Mark married the former Maria Calandra and together they have raised three beautiful children, Ashlee, John, and Theresa. And don’t forget Frado the family dog. Early in his career, Mark became the 3rd generation of the Grisanti family to practice law in Buffalo, Joining Grisanti & Grisanti, the families firm since 1921. He quickly distinguished himself as an attorney who stands for those who can’t help themselves, especially against the system, which unfortunately Mark learned; isn’t always designed to work for us, even sometimes against us. Being an attorney who is trained to represent the people, Mark learned over his 17 year career that his calling was fighting hard, for the rights of the people he represents. For the disabled, the impoverished, the poor, the young, the elder, people of all races, creeds and genders. Mark Grisanti is a supporter of many things, including being a member of the Erie County Bar Association, the Delaware club, the Italian-American Police Association, the Assigned Counsel Program, the Volunteer Lawyers Project, the New York State Troopers Association, the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association, and the Police Athletic League. He is a longtime contributor to the St Rose of Lima church, the St. Anthony of Padua Church, the Canisius College Alumni Association, and many others. Mark has received certificates of appreciation from the Erie county bar association, the American Heart Association, BornHava, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and has been a notable contributor to many other organizations.
