A son and grandson of Greek immigrants, Harry J. Wilson is the founder of The MAEVA Group, LLC, a turnaround merchant bank that advises and invests in corporate transformations and advises municipal governments. Prior to founding MAEVA in January 2011, Mr. Wilson spent most of his career as an investor focused on underperforming companies at The Blackstone Group and Silver Point Capital. In 2009 he oversaw the restructuring of General Motors for the US Treasury, and in 2010 he was the Republican nominee for New York State Comptroller, losing narrowly to the incumbent but delivering the best Republican statewide challenger showing since 1994. He currently sits on the boards of Yahoo!, Visteon and YRC Worldwide. Mr. Wilson is a frequent guest host on CNBC and Bloomberg. He is also active in a number of philanthropic and policy pursuits, including serving on the board of Youth, INC, a venture philanthropy organization focused on New York City youth, serving as a co-chair of his three most recent college reunions and serving as a Presidential appointee on the Advisory Committee of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. He is a graduate of Harvard College, where he received an AB with honors, and of Harvard Business School.
