Michael J. O’Connor is the supreme secretary of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Supreme Board of Directors. He previously served as supreme treasurer and assistant supreme advocate. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1986 and served as the Grand Knight of Council 2580 and the Faithful Navigator of Assembly 923. He also served as a District Deputy from 1994-1998, State Advocate from 2000-2002 and was elected as the State Deputy of Pennsylvania for the 2006-2008 fraternal years, where he earned the Circle of Honor Award for his jurisdiction both years. Michael is a Eucharistic Minister and serves on the Parish Council of St. Ann’s Church in Frackville, Pennsylvania, and also serves as a member of the REACH Alliance in Harrisburg and served as the President of the Schuylkill County Saint Thomas More Society. He attended the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, and graduated with a J.D. in September 1986 and passed the Bar Exam in February 1987. Mike also attended Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, where he attained a M.A. in Political Science/State and Local Government in 1983 and a B.A. in Political Science in 1980. He is the founder of Michael J. O’Connor & Associates, a law firm with 15 offices throughout Pennsylvania, and was selected and named as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in the field of workers’ compensation law from 2004 to 2013 as published by Philadelphia Magazine. Michael and his wife, Patricia, have three children.
