Based in Boise, Idaho, JR Simplot is a diversified private food and agricultural products company founded in 1955 by John Richard Simplot. An early pioneer in the production of frozen potatoes, Simplot is a large supplier of French fries to national and regional restaurant chains. Other Simplot products and services include frozen vegetables, beef cattle, processed meat, agricultural fertilizers and animal feed. The company also sells turf and horticultural products.
