Booz Allen Hamilton Executive Vice President Jim Summers is a leader in the firm’s cybersecurity business, serving the National Security Agency (NSA). He helps develop and evolve cybersecurity offerings for key NSA clients including: the Information Assurance Directorate; the Technology Directorate, and the NSA Threat Operations Center. He is a member of the firm’s Cyber Steering Committee and Cyber Technologies center of excellence. Before joining Booz Allen, Mr. Summers served nine years at SafeNet, Inc. He was President of Safe Net’s Government Solutions Division (GSD) that provided secure communications solutions for the US Department of Defense. In addition to his GSD role he served as the SVP and General Manager of SafeNet’s Data Protection Division; and led the Engineering and Program Management organizations, where he was responsible for a number SafeNet’s global R&D centers for the company’s commercial and government business units. Prior to SafeNet, Jim served at General Dynamics Decision Systems (GDDS), as the firm’s Director of Engineering for the Information Security Systems & Products Division and also the Director of the Common Security Platforms Center of Excellence, where he was responsible for directing the technology investments that drive the core security architectures required by all GDDS business units. As Director of Engineering in Motorola’s Market Solutions Division, he established the Engineering Development team and Post Implementation support for IT System Solutions for the public safety, transportation systems, airport systems. and utilities systems markets. He was also a leader in the company’s Satellite Communications Group and lead the organization that developed the Payload Software for the Iridium communications satellite system Mr. Summers holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering and an M.B.A. from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ. He is a member of Eta Kappa Nu Honors Society and Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society.
