Cheryl Hillen has 30 years experience in the public policy, political and fundraising communities and she is currently president of Project Education, LLC which provides fundraising and strategic planning consulting services to education reform organizations. Cheryl started Project Education, LLC primarily to help small K-12 education reform organizations develop critical fundraising skills, providing increased stability for their organization and more educational opportunity for children. In addition, her goal is to show small organizations how an increased donor base can help leverage political influence. Expanding the pool of talent in the fundraising profession for K-12 education reform groups remains a priority. Prior to starting Project Education in 2008, she served as Director of Development at the Alliance and Advocates for School Choice (2004-2008); Vice President at Children First America (2000 – 2004); Director of Development at Citizens for a Sound Economy (1990 – 2000); and Vice President at D.C.-based government relations firm (1986-1990). Prior to that she worked on political campaigns and on Capitol Hill. Cheryl is originally from West Virginia and attended the University of Kentucky where she majored in political science. She lives at Merritt Island, Florida and has three children: Marga, Will, and Woody
