Margarita Palau-Hernandez is the founder and chief executive officer of Hernandez Ventures, a private firm engaged in the acquisition and management of a variety of business interests. Ms. Palau-Hernandez is committed to community engagement and leveraging that experience to help Herbalife Nutrition deliver on its purpose of making the world healthier and happier. Ms. Palau-Hernandez is an attorney with financial and entrepreneurial expertise. Prior to founding Hernandez Ventures in 1988, she spent three years with the law firm of McCutcheon, Black, Verleger & Shea specializing in domestic and international business and real estate transactions. Since November 2015, Ms. Palau-Hernandez has been a director and member of the Compensation and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees of the publicly traded ALJ Regional Holdings, Inc. She is a member of numerous non-profit commissions and boards, including the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Commission on Building a Secure and Competitive U.S.-Mexico Border; the Pacific Council on International Policy; the Smithsonian National Latino Board; UCLA School of Law Board of Advisors; UCLA Law Women L.E.A.D; Yale School of Management Council of Global Advisors; Ex-Officio Board Member of Yale School of Management and Trustee Emeritus of the University of San Diego. Ms. Palau-Hernandez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego and a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law.
