Abby Finkenauer

US Representative for Iowa's 1st district;. Abby Finkenauer was only 29 years old when she was elected, making her the second youngest woman to ever be elected to the US Congress, behind Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She aspired to a political career long before graduating from college, working as a page for US Rep. Jim Nussle and later for Pat Murphy the Speaker of the House in the Iowa legislature. She was also the Iowa volunteer coordinator for Joe Biden's presidential campaign in 2007. Finkeauer holds a B.A> in Public Relations from Drake Univ. in Des Moines, IA. After college, she worked at the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque and its affiliate county foundations. In 2014, Abby was elected to represent Dubuque in the Iowa Legislature. Born in Dubuque, IA, December 27, 1988; Abby comes from a working class family. Her father is a union pipe-fitter welder, her mother worked for the Dubuque Community Schools.
