Lisa Denton Barkett received her bachelor’s degree from the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy in 1981 and her juris doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1984. Past president of the USC Alumni Association Board of Governors, she currently serves on the USC School of Dramatic Arts Board of Councilors, the Friends of the USC Libraries Board of Directors, the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism Parent Leadership Council, and the USC Athletics Board of Counselors. She has been an active member of the Trojan League Associates of San Diego for 20 years. On appointment by the Governor of California in 2003 and 2011, Lisa serves on the Board of Directors for the 22nd District Agricultural Association, the Racetrack Leasing Commission and the Racetrack Authority. She is also a trustee of Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center in San Diego. A member of the State Bar of California since 1985, Lisa was duly admitted as an Attorney and Counsellor of the Supreme Court of the United States in 2014. Among other honors, in 2013, Lisa was inducted into USC Skull & Dagger, and in 2012, Lisa received the USC Remarkable Women Awards, the John R. Hubbard Award for Greek Community Support, the USC Tommy Award for Campus Activities, the USC Peer Achievement Alumni Award, the Trojan League Associates of San Diego County’s 2010 Outstanding Alumni Leadership Award, the USC Alumni Association’s President’s Award, and the Salvation Army of San Diego’s Women of Distinction and Dedication Award. Married for 30 years, Lisa and her husband, William, reside in La Jolla, California and have three children, all of them Trojans.
