Dr. Jo Kwong lectures and writes on a broad range of environmental issues. The basic premise of her approach is that private property rights and market processes provide powerful incentives for people to become protective stewards of the environment. A system in which hundreds of thousands of people care for the environment offers a very effective alternative to a system of stronger, more intrusive government regulation. Dr. Kwong is currently the Environmental Research Associate and Director of Public Affairs at the Atlas Economic Research Foundation in Fairfax, Virginia. She holds several other affiliations including serving on the Academic Advisory Council of the Institute of Economic Affairs in London, Assistant Research Professor of George Mason University (Fairfax, VA), and Senior Associate at the State Policy Network. Kwong received her doctorate in Natural Resource Economics and Management and a Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan; and a bachelors in biology from Brown University
