Mr. Joseph B. Gildenhorn is a Founding Partner - Emeritus of JBG Companies, LLC and its predecessors, a real estate development and management since 1956 and is a Partner at the D.C. law firm of Brown, Gildenhorn & Jacobs. Mr. Gildenhorn served as President of The JBG Companies from 1960 to 1989. From August 1989 to March 1993, Mr. Gildenhorn served as the United States' Ambassador to Switzerland. He serves as Chairman of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He served as Chairman of Franklin National Bank of Washington, D.C. since February 1996. He is the Chairman of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation Board of Trustees. Mr. Gildenhorn served as Vice Chairman of the board of Directors of the D.C. Metro Region of BB&T Corp., a commercial banking institution. He served as a Director of The Mills Corp. (TMC), the General partner of Mills Limited Partnership, from November 1995 to March 29, 2007. He serves on the boards of the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University, the Council of American Ambassadors, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He served as a Director of El Apparel Inc. since November 1994. He served as a Director of Franklin Bancorporation Inc. since 1994. He served as a Director of Franklin Bancorporation Inc.'s banking subsidiary, Franklin National Bank of Washington D.C. since 1994 Mr. Gildenhorn was named "Washingtonian of the Year 1996" by Washingtonian magazine. In 2000, Mr. Gildenhorn was honored with the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship.
