Notes The Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative is a Research & Development (R&D) organization in the area of learning science and technologies (LS&T) funded under the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSD P&R). ADL primary conducts 6.3 (Advanced Technology Development) R&D with the goal of improving learning effectiveness and efficiency for the DoD, whole of government, and beyond. Our vision is to help our nation’s learners, both military and civilian, thrive in our increasingly complex world by developing the future learning ecosystem. To achieve this, ADL serves as a thought leader on LS&T, provides customer support to facilitate the implementation of new LS&T techniques and technologies, and develops both internally and collaboratively with our partners in government, academia, and industry spanning across the globe, innovative open source tools, technologies, specifications and techniques.
