Sal helped push the organization into its growth stage, from a start-up investment shop with less than 30 employees and $10 million in OpEx to a global organization positioned on four continents, six offices, over 180 employees and $80 million in OpEx in 2018, with deployed capital of $250 million for 2018. Sal helped champion movements from commercialization of the micro-finance to leading the creation of the impact investing space. The Human Capital team, led by Sal, oversees the HR, IT, Administrative and Facilities functions at ON and provides customized and strategic support to investees and network organizations throughout the world, aligning people strategies to business strategies, particularly focusing on attraction, retention and engagement of talent. In the latest Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP) survey, non-profit investees responded resoundingly that they valued the Human Capital support Sal’s group provided, equally if not more than the financial support they received.
