Arthur W. Perdue founded Perdue Farms in 1920 but the company gained national attention as a brand name when son and successor, Franklin P. Perdue, became television pitchman for the company. Perdue sells its chicken and turkey products to food retailers and food service companies located on the East Coast, as far west as Chicago and in several foreign countries, including China. Trademarked Perdue offerings include Prime Parts, Ovenstuffer, Fit 'N Easy and Cafe Perdue. Perdue also runs two soybean-processing plants that produce vegetable oils and ingredients for animal feed.
