Peter Sirh, former majority staff director, U.S. House of Representatives, has elected to join the firm, effective immediately. Mr. Sirh joins Patton Boggs as a partner in the firm’s Public Policy practice in the Washington DC office. Formerly chief of staff to U.S. Congressman Tom Davis (R-VA), Mr. Sirh became staff director to the House Government Reform Committee in January 2003, returning to the committee where he served as staff director and counsel for the Subcommittee on the District of Columbia from 1998 to 1999, while working for Congressman Davis. Mr. Sirh holds a wealth of experience in legislative affairs, having previously held such positions as director of public and congressional affairs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Sirh also acquired experience in other areas. As U.S. House representative to the National Capital Planning Commission, he worked on regional urban planning issues including the development of the World War II Memorial and the new Washington Convention Center. Mr. Sirh holds a B.A. from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and his J.D. from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. He is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia bars.
