With nearly 20 years of legislative and political experience, Rick Kessler is best known as the longtime chief of staff and committee staffer for House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman John D. Dingell (D-MI). Kessler also is well known for his years of work as a top aide to Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. for whom he worked in a variety of legislative and political roles between 1992 and 1997, including Legislative Director during Pallone’s tenure as Ranking Member of the Energy Subcommittee. Earlier in his career, Kessler honed his command of energy and environment issues in legislative positions with Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and former Representative William J. Hughes (D-NJ) and as the Associate Director of Government Affairs for Princeton University. Kessler most recently worked for New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine (D), serving as Director of the state’s Washington, DC office and as the principal staffer to Governor Corzine in his role as Chairman of the National Governors Association Health and Human Services Committee.
